Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Presidential Candidate of the ruling NPP has reiterated his stance on the LGBTQ+ stating that he will not accept it if voted into power in the December 7 polls.
The Vice President made this statement at the Sefwi Akontombra Chief's palace in the Akontombra Constituency of the Western North Region.
The NPP Presidential candidate's second day visit to the constituency forms part of his official Regional tour to the Western North region .
Addressing the traditional rulers, the clergy and the leadership of muslim community in Akontombra, Dr Bawumia noted that Christian and Muslim values do not entertain LGBTQ+.
Dr. Bawumia also assured the people if voted into power, he will upgrade the Cocoa Rehabilitation centre into a Cocoa research institute in order to help the cocoa farmers in the area.
Dr Mahamudu Bawumia who highlighted the numerous policy interventions introduce by the NPP government such as the Free SHS, introduction of Ghana Card, Cocoa Rehabilitation, free Laptops for students and teachers and also restoring teacher trainee allowance hinted that a vote for former President Mahama is a vote for a second hand president, but a vote for him is a vote for a brand new President coming with more and fresh ideas and policies.
The NPP Presidential candidate also assured the traditional authorities he will draw them closer in his government if voted into office, adding that, he will give back the powers of the traditional leaders and also make sure Paramount Chiefs and Queen mothers are being paid salaries every month.
Nana Kwabena Ebi ll, Chief of Sefwi Akontombra commended the NPP presidential candidate and the Akufo-Addo led NPP administration for their numerous developmental projects.
He appealed to him to name the Member of Parliament for Akontombra, Hon Alexander Djornobuah Tetteh as a cabinet minister if he wins the presidency on December 7.
He also appealed to Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to upgrade the Sefwi Akontombra town park to Astro tuff to bring some relief to the MP of the area.
The Vice President who defied the rain and addressed the mammoth NPP supporters promised to upgrade the Akontombra town park to Astro tuff park as requested by Nana Kwabena Ebi ll.
He, therefore, urged the constituents to vote massively for him and the MP for the area to continue the good works done by President Akufo-Addo.
Hon. Alexander Djornobuah Tetteh, MP for the area urged his constituents to vote massively for Dr Mahmoud Bawumia since he is the only presidential candidate who has vision and has Ghana at heart.
