Illegal Vote Transfer Not the Duty of the NPP To Address, Allow EC To Work - Nana B

National Organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) says his party cannot be pressured to speak on accusations by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) that the Electoral Commission (EC) is attempting to rig the December 7 general election for the NPP.

Henry Nana Boakye rubbished the claims and maintained that the EC is responsible for clarifying the allegation and not the NPP.

It's not by force for the NPP to speak against illegal transfers in the register. Let the EC work,” he said in an interview with NEAT FM's morning show, Ghana Montie.

His comment comes after the NDC announced a plan to hold a nationwide protest march on September 17, 2024, should the Electoral Commission (EC) fail to address issues of irregularities found in the voter register ahead of the December 7 general election, within the shortest possible time.

Speaking to the media after submitting the presidential nomination forms for John Dramani Mahama, the party's flag bearer on Monday afternoon, [September 9, 2024], NDC National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, expressed concern over what he said was "several discrepancies" identified in the register.
