2023 Budget: Either We Support It or Be Ready for Terrible Times Ahead - Dennis Miracles Warns MPs

Director of Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development at the Presidency, Dennis Miracles, has appealed to both the Majority and Minority in Parliament to support the 2023 Budget and Economic Policy of Government.

The 2023 budget is expected to be read by Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, on Thursday, November 24.

However, some reports indicate that the MPs will abandon the budget if it is presented by the Finance Minister whose position is vehemently protested by the members of the House.

The MPs are calling for the removal of Mr. Ken Ofori-Atta.

Contributing to Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" programme Wednesday morning, Dennis Miracles pleaded with the MPs to welcome the 2023 budget without any opposition.

He warned them not to repeat the behavior some exhibited during the 2022 budget presentation which saw a boycott by the Minority.

"We should all agree that where we are today, we are in this together...so we should stick together to pass this 2023 budget without those unnecessary partisan entrenched politicking. The minority, majority, civil society organizations, political party, religious groups; we should all stick together and pass this budget on time.

"We need to understand going into the 2023 budget. If we do that, I am sure on the path of recovery that we want to set, we will reach there swiftly. If we don't that and we repeat the 2022 budget issues, we should be ready for a more terrible times than we are experiencing now," Dennis Miracles advised.
