Brilliant But Needy: Meet 18-year-old Akosua Adjei Boateng With 8As WAEC Results But Home

The 18-year-old girl, Akosua Adjei Boateng from Juaso Senior High Technical School in the Asante Akyem South in the Ashanti region won the best candidate for the Technical programme in the just-ended WAEC Distinction Awards in 2023.

According to the report, the young girl is still at home waiting for financial support and assistance to further her education.

In an interview with the headmistress of Juaso Senior High Technical School, Miss Ishmaelia  Crentsil said they only got to know her brilliance in an inter-house quiz competition.

“Akosua Adjei Boateng is a very calm, intelligent and respectful girl."

She was never in the limelight, we only saw her brilliance during an inter-house quiz competition and everybody was surprised at her performance “ she said

Miss Ishmaelia Crentsil added that Akosua is an orphan who would need a lot of support to be able to further her studies.

“ Akosua is an orphan, I will take this opportunity to appeal passionately to philanthropists, benevolent and organizations to come to her aid “ she added

The WAEC Distinction Awards is instituted by the WAEC endowment fund. One of the objects of the fund is the provision of prices for awards to candidates who distinguished themselves in the council’s national and international examinations.
