ADB Boss Dr. John Kofi Mensah Urges The Media To Prioritize In Agri-Business Reporting

The Managing Director of of ADB, Dr. John Kofi Mensah has appealed to the media to prioritize in agri-business reporting since agri business is the main vision of President Akufo-Addo.

He explained that agri-business represents a major sector of industry in Ghana and creates many jobs for the youth, hence the need for the media to make agribusiness a priority.


The Hard working MD who has transformed ADB from a point of losses to profits made the statement on Thursday (September 15, 2022) when the Executives of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) led by its President Mr. Albert Kwabena Dwumfour paid a courtesy call on management of the Bank at it’s head office in Accra.

“We want you to Support the ADB to develop in the area of agri-business because that is the main objective of the President”, he said.

Dr. Mensah later, upon a request by the GJA President, reiterated the Banks’ commitment to support the GJA and Journalists in general adding that “the media remains a critical part of our democratic dispensation and for us in the corporate world”.

The ADB Boss also assured the GJA of a tremendous support for major activities of the GJA including capacity building for Journalists, rebranding and refurbishment of the Press Centre, Journalists Support Fund and more importantly the GJA Awards which is the flagship event of the Association.

“We want to assure you that as it was with the past Executives we are going to do same and even more; we know that with you we are going to go higher and higher”, Dr. Kofi Mensah emphasized.

He also commended the media for helping the bank deliver on its mandate stressing that the ADB brand has grown positively for the past 6 years due to it’s good relations with the media.

According to him, ADB has been a partner for both the GJA and individuals media house for the past 9 years adding that the relationship has tremendously improve since 2017.

“We thank you for helping ADB to deliver on its services.

As for Albert Dwumfour, he is the main reason for the Stronger collaboration we have with the media and the GJA”, the visionary MD who has increased the branches of ADB, said.

On his part, the GJA President, Mr. Albert Kwabena Dwumfour said the visit was to collaborate with key partner institutions to explore opportunities for the development of the GJA and the various institutions.

He commended Dr. Kofi Mensah and the ADB management team for their continuous support for the media as part of it’s corporate social responsibility noting that the Bank is now visible under Dr. John Kofi Mensah than before.

The GJA President however appealed to the Bank to double it’s support for GJA this year as it plans to organize a mega Awards.

Mr. Dwumfour also assured the ADB of its unwavering commitment to support the bank in the area of agri-business.

“We want to partner with you to ensure strong business environment”, he emphasized.

Present at the meeting were the Treasurer, Madam Bridget Kaminta L. Nuotuo, the General Manager- Operations, Mr. Enoch Benjamin Donkoh, the Chief Finance Officer Mr.Leon Bannerman-Williams and the Head of Marketing and Communications, Mr. Selorm Amevor.

On the side of the GJA were the President Albert Kwabena Dwumfour, the General Secretary Mr. Kofi Yeboah, the Organizing Secretary, Mr. Dominic Hlordzi, the Treasurer, Madam Audrey Dekalu.
